Makena Mwobobia is a Development professional with vast experience in leadership, and programme management and a champion of women rights. She considers herself an inspiring leader who worked with various civil societies, including ActionAid International, Plan International and VSO. She has also served with several governing boards including CHS and AA Ireland. Makena was instrumental in establishment of Sauti ya Wanawake (Women’s Voices), a local movement with over 10, 000 members that fights for rights of women and girls in Kenya. Passionate about issues that affect women and girls, she believes in equality and justice for all, in women’s participation in politics, economic and leadership. Makena seeks to see a global world that respects and fulfils the rights of the most marginalised especially women.
