Arusha Regional Commissioner Pays Courtesy Call to MS TCDC

On receiving the Regional Commissioner, MS TCDC’s leadership briefed on the various activities the centre undertakes throughout the year. As the Programs Director, Sara Ezra Teri emphasized that the centre focuses on Pan-Africanism to ensure that we contribute to the AU Agenda 2063 through research and capacity development for youth, government officials and helping the community to connect in development efforts.
She noted that the opportunity for the centre to strengthen its continued partnership with the government is in developing the capacity building as well building to the local community through the establishment of the Youth Hub Arusha that will engage the community of youth than before and connect the youth globally through its flagship program Africa Youth Leadership Program (YouLead.)
In his remarks, Hon. Mongella highlighted his vision for the Arusha region upon his leadership and shared his three areas of focus that the centre can play. The RC commended the centre that in partnership with other higher learning institutions in the region, they should promote the region’s focus on higher education. Also, the RC highlighted his ambitions to design and offer capacity building to regional systems that will bring dynamics skills to public servants in delivering relevant services to the community. The RC finished by urging the centre to be a think tank to support the government along the sideline of the country’s Development Strategy.
The Executive Director of MS TCDC, Ms Makena Mwobobia said the work that the centre does in the region focuses on research and youth engagement and capacity building hence the centre’s efforts in establishing its two convening programs being the Youth Hub Arusha and Arusha debate which will give an avenue to the Arusha community to be engaged globally.
The RC assured MS TCDC that the Local Government offices remain wide open to assist and work together with the centre.
Also present at the function were, Eng. Richard Ruyango, Arumeru’s District Commissioner, Mr Jacob Msekwa, Protocol Officer in the office of the Regional Commissioner, Mr Ivan Atuyambe, Head of Programs, Dr Joachim Kisanji, Senior Language Trainer, Ms Juliana Shem Admission Officer, Ms Catherine Mossi and Mr Gervas Damas from the Communications Office, Mr Fadhili and Mr Ahmed Pamba from the office of Arumeru’s District Commissioner.
