Young people are at the forefront to influence change in all spheres of life. The wake of Gen-Z as enthusiasts for social transformation calls for upskilling and capacity development to enable them to not just address challenges, but as key actors for improved communities' well-being.
The Youth Hub invites young people in the to submit either essays, articles and videos that showcase innovative solutions steered by young people in the Arusha region
The selected participants will be trained on research, digital learning models and means to influence transformation in a rapid advancing world. Stories of change will be documented to expand knowledge, foster locally-rooted knowledge and sustain democratic values, unconventional norms and active citizenry.
Submissions should be based on the following themes:
Focus must be on investigating the tension between freedom of expression online and the need for digital regulation in local contexts. The key question will be ‘should digital rights be prioritized over community norms and safety in grassroots activism?’
The focus in this theme will be on analyzing the effectiveness of online movements in achieving tangible outcomes for climate justice and social equity. Are digital campaigns replacing or reinforcing traditional grassroots activism?
