An engaging space to unlock youth-led solutions
The Youth Hub is a youth space designed to mobilise, capacitate, and influence young people to lead collectively for community transformation. The Youth Hub provides a safe environment, where the young people can gather around different topics that concern them, whether it is politics or everyday life struggles.
In collaboration with peers and within the framework set by the Global Platforms, the young people can grow, learn and achieve self-development, in the course to go out and influence other peers to set the agenda and change their circumstances.
Building a network of youth-led activism
We define learning as a revolution – a process that enables youth to act to be free from judgement and discrimination by creating a space to re-construct identities and to imagine and envision alternatives while living the way they would like the future to be. We foster capacity building through learning processes that are designed to enable the youth and their organisations/initiatives to implement the newly acquired knowledge into their work.
A platform for young women and gender advocates to come together to share experiences, have discussions on feminism, gender equality and related challenges.
FemTalks include storytelling, raising awareness, panel discussions, dialogues, networking, and skill-building. The aim is to bring out feminist leaders and drive positive change collectively.
Youth Hub gives the youth a space whereby they can actively participate in climate justice efforts by learning and acting on environmental issues affecting their communities. This is done by youth-led green campaigns, creative and digital mobilization for climate action, and climate justice stakeholder meetings.
Youth Hub formed this platform/ space to feature young political enthusiasts, responsible citizens without discrimination of political ideologies, gender, race, level of life and origin, among other things, to deliberate on the needs of the people, accountability constructs and enforcement mechanisms thereafter. This will convene young leaders in the private and public sector in Arusha to deliberate on their role, accountability and fulfilment of the expectations from fellow young people and the larger community.
Youth Hub Arusha is implementing a program focusing on promoting democratic practices and youth participation, especially for young women, in peaceful national electoral and post-electoral processes in the Arusha region. The program intends to promote accountable leadership and a peaceful environment in the electoral phase in Arusha by increasing youth awareness of their civic rights in elections.
At the Youth Hub, young people set the agenda!
Individuals can set their learning goals and commitment before the capacity building process is initiated and then continues through a learning phase and in its application.
We prioritise regular follow-ups on the learner’s actions as well as provide feedback to improve. In short, our capacity-building interventions are formulated to work sustainably and not take learning as a one-off event.
YOUTH HUB EVENTS
Youth Hub membership is open to all young people, like-minded stakeholders and development partners looking to engage with the Youth Hub in shaping the future we want.
With differing modalities of engagement in membership, our team will be open to communicating and advancing relationships with peers. Youth can apply to be part of our programmatic activities through our social media platforms and website.
We forge communities of practice with a specific focus on thematic areas. Hence, peer-to-peer mentorship is our priority. Further, we seek to establish relationships between youth, trainers, facilitators and experts to support each other's goals “mentorship is therefore achieved through this practical engagement”.
