The 9th YouLead Summit will address the continent’s most pressing issues with homegrown, intergenerational, and inclusive solutions to development.
Africa’s stark development challenges threaten the continent’s future prosperity with only 6% of the continent's measurable Sustainable Development Goals progressing as planned. Climate action targets lag behind, peace remains fragile in many regions, and economic opportunities fail to reach those who need them most.
Against this backdrop, the 9th YouLead Summit, will be held from November 3-7, 2025, at the MS TCDC in Arusha, Tanzania, under the theme, “Breaking Barriers, Building the Future: Youth Advancing Sustainable Development through Peace, Justice & Green Transition.”
Co-convened by MS TCDC and the East African Community, the 2025 Summit aims to catalyse a future where development is not only equitable but regenerative, inclusive, and deeply rooted in justice.
“Africa’s future will not be inherited; it will be built by the courage, vision, and innovation of its young people. At YouLead 2025, we are not just imagining a just, peaceful and green Africa, we are empowering youth to lead it,” says Dr Ana Haule, Executive Director, MS TCDC.
The 2025 Summit will bring together Africa’s young leaders, policymakers, private sector actors, and civil society stakeholders. Over the five days, participants will engage in high-level dialogue and multi-stakeholder workshops focused on amplifying youth voices and crafting collective solutions towards the structural issues towards youth participation in leadership and promoting youth-led innovations for sustainable livelihoods.
