The African Journal of Leadership and Governance (AJLG) is a new peer-reviewed, open-access scholarly journal dedicated to advancing knowledge, research, and practice in leadership and governance across Africa published by the MS Training Centre for Development Cooperation.
The journal provides a platform for scholars, practitioners, policymakers, and students to engage with emerging issues, share evidence-based insights, and contribute to the development of effective leadership and governance systems on the continent.

Rethinking Leadership and Governance in Africa: Challenges, Innovations, and Pathways for Transformation
We invite high-quality, original contributions that critically examine leadership and governance in Africa from multiple perspectives—political, social, economic, institutional, cultural, and gendered.

Guidelines
- Writing format: Modern Language Association (MLA) style. Submissions will be accepted in English language only.
- Length: Six thousand (6000) to eight thousand (8000) words. The abstract should contain full references when relevant.
- Publishing Statement: A statement indicating if the paper has previously been published or submitted for publishing with any publisher. If so, the name of the publisher and the date when the paper was published. A statement by the author granting AJLG consent to publish the submitted work.
- Author/Contributor information: Authors should provide their full name, title/designation, telephone/mobile contacts.
- Originality: The author should declare originality of their work.
- The submitted work will be subjected to AJLG’s peer review process.
- The AJLG team reserves the right to ask authors for more information or suggest changes and edits on the submitted articles.

Submit manuscripts electronically via email to ajlg@mstcdc.or.tz with the subject line: “Submission – AJLG Inaugural Issue."
Deadline: 5th December 2025
The submitted work will then be subjected to the AJLG’s peer review process. The AJLG reserves the right to edit submitted articles.
All submissions are required to satisfy the Editorial Guidelines for Contributors attached.
