HRBA and Feminist Leadership Principles - A Key to Transforming  Communities

CM
Catherine Mossi
Communications Officer, MS TCDC

In 2024, we concluded the SPA II scholarship programmes with the Human-Rights-based Approach and Feminist Leadership course, exploring the powerful intersection of human rights-based approaches and feminist leadership.

The training emphasised the importance of inclusive participation, recognising that equality requires the involvement of all members of society.

"The main key that we got from this training is the involvement and boys a lot in the understanding feminism and applying this ideology. So this idiom, feminism is not only for women but involves with men and boys also," said a participant from the training.

By exploring diverse perspectives and challenging traditional power dynamics, the workshop empowered participants to become agents of change within their communities.

"Being a part of a training related to human rights-based approach or a feminist leadership. It's an opportunity, you don't need to be a feminist to be part of this training. Basically, if you are a human and you want to make a change in the world, you can participate in such training."

The training instilled in participants a deeper understanding of their own rights and empowered them to advocate for a more just and equitable future for all. By fostering inclusive dialogue, empowering marginalised voices, and challenging existing power structures, we can create a more just and equitable world for all.
