Youth Hub Trainer

The Trainer will support the design and delivery of youth-centered learning processes and assist in the implementation of Youth Hub programmes.

About Youth Hub Arusha

The Youth Hub at MS TCDC is a dynamic, youth-centered space dedicated to mobilizing, equipping, and amplifying young people to drive community transformation. The Hub works with diverse youth groups to build skills, leadership, and collective action in key thematic areas including: Climate Justice, Digital Activism, Feminist Leadership Democratic Space & Civic Engagement 

Through participatory learning and movement-building approaches, the Youth Hub strengthens youth agency, voice, and influence at community and national levels. 

Position Purpose 

MS TCDC is seeking a motivated and passionate Trainer to support the design and delivery of youth-centered learning processes and assist in the implementation of Youth Hub programmes. The role combines facilitation, learning design, coordination, and documentation to ensure impactful engagement with young people. 

 Key Responsibilities 

1. Training & Facilitation 

  • Design and facilitate participatory training sessions, workshops, and learning activities for young people.
  • Apply youth-friendly and inclusive methodologies aligned with Global Platform principles.
  • Adapt learning approaches to suit diverse youth groups and thematic priorities. 

2. Learning & Documentation 

  • Develop learning materials, session plans, concept notes, and training tools.
  • Prepare activity and session reports in a timely manner.
  • Maintain relevant programme data and documentation for learning and reporting purposes. 

3. Programme Support & Coordination 

  • Support planning, logistics, and coordination of Youth Hub Arusha activities.
  • Assist in the implementation of work plans and scheduled events.
  • Contribute to monitoring progress of activities and participant engagement.  

4. Communication & Youth Mobilization 

  • Document sessions through notes, photos, and short summaries for communication purposes.
  • Support outreach and mobilization of Youth Hub target groups.
  • Contribute to visibility and storytelling of Youth Hub activities.  

Expected Deliverables 

  • Trainings planned and delivered in line with the approved work plan.
  • Facilitation of Youth Hub sessions based on schedule and capacity.
  • Timely submission of session reports and a final summary report at the end of the assignment. 

Required Qualifications & Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Education, Development Studies, Gender Studies, Environmental Studies, or another relevant field.
  • Proven experience in youth facilitation, training, or learning design.
  • Knowledge of at least one of the Youth Hub thematic areas (Climate Justice, Digital Activism, Feminist Leadership, Democratic Space).
  • Familiarity with participatory learning methodologies (experience with Global Platform approaches is an added advantage).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (Swahili is an asset). 

Core Competencies 

  • Strong facilitation and public engagement skills.
  • Ability to create safe, inclusive, and youth-friendly learning spaces.
  • Good planning, coordination, and organizational skills.
  • Digital literacy (documentation, communication tools, and basic data management).
  • Self-motivated, flexible, and able to work with diverse youth groups.
